How to Use a Steam Juicer — It Works Magic!

Fresh Juice All Summer Long! 🍈 #juicer #steamjuicer #blenders

Hello! It’s me again, Donna. Glad you’re here on JuiceyBlenders.com! My passion is juicers and blenders. I’m a bit of a health nut! I’ve gone through many different juicing and blending appliances. The purpose of this blog is to help you find what you’re looking for on your new healthy journey. This post is about Steam Juicers! You will find out exactly how to use a steam juicer here.

Why Use A Steam Juicer?

Like fresh-squeezed orange juice at the breakfast table, this is a long-lasting loving relationship for years to come.

A Steam Juicer allows you to harness the raw nutrients from fruits and vegetables, extracting up to 300% more vitamins and minerals than other juicers. Steam juicing is the easiest way to extract maximum juice using the least amount of fruit while retaining vitamins, nutrients, natural enzymes, and freshness!

If you’re going to juice, do it right. The steam juicer assures you will receive those precious health benefits of fresh juice, minus all the work of peeling and seeding. For a healthier lifestyle, pure steam is the way to go!

How does a Steam Juicer Work?

Steam juicers work magic by stewing the juice from the fruit. Add a bunch of fresh, firm, and preferably ripe fruit into the top section of the steamer, and add boiling water to the bottom pot. Magic happens! Well, not really magic, it’s science, but it feels like magic! The steam extracts the juices from the fruits (or vegetables).

The vapor rises to the top of the juicer, extracts juice, and the juice runs down to the middle portion of the juicer. Heat and gravity move the juices down into the juicer’s center section. In this middle section, there is a hose that carries the juice out of the juicer and to wherever you want it to go! Pot, pan, mason jar, whatever you choose!

What Do I Put In a Steam Juicer?

A steam juicer is easy to use and provides smooth, nutritious juices. However, some questions you may have include: What to put in the juicer?

You probably should know that when using a steam juicer, you have to prepare the fruit first. This is certainly the most important and time-consuming part of this process.

The prep-work for preparing your fruit is different for each type of fruit, but once you understand the basics you can use your own intuition to figure out what you need to do.

  • Grapes: Remove seeds if there are any.
  • Berries: Remove seeds, make sure none of them are too mushy or overly ripe!
  • Apples: Remove the core and seeds!
  • Pears: Remove the core, make sure it isn’t overly ripe.
  • Pluots: Remove the core/pit.
  • Peaches: Remove the pit, make sure it isn’t damaged.
  • Apricots: Remove the pit, it is toxic!
  • Cherries: Remove the pit and stems.

Here’s something funny I did once when I used a steam juicer for the very first time. Do you know how often times store-bought fruit has a sticker on it with a PLU or barcode on it? Well, I forgot about those and tossed them in the juicer with the rest of the fruit. Don’t do that! It was quite a waste, but it sure did make for a funny memory!

Tip: It’s recommended that if you’re using a larger fruit such as an apple or pear, cut it into quarters so that the steam doesn’t have to reach so far in the fruit to extract the juices.
